Book an Alpaca Walking Tour and Experience on our small farm and learn about some of the initiatives we are taking to improve Nature and Wildlife habitats.
Perseus, Renoir and Ziggy will amuse and delight as you learn the basics of the Alpaca world and these amazing, kind, inquisitive, animals. See where they live, hear their story, and then walk them around the farm whilst bonding with your new found friends.
During the walk you may well spot some of the other Wildlife we encourage to the farm as a part of our firm commitment to nature.
After the walk why head into our Jane's Dome Cafe & Bar for some refreshment and a slice of home baked cake.
This Experience and Walk remains on our farm at all times and avoids public roads altogether. The ground is hilly but easily walked. You will need to bring sturdy Walking or Wellington Boots (these will be disinfected before the Experience starts in order to protect our strict biosecurity). You'll also need a warm coat and hat in the cooler months (please avoid bright colours) and of course a camera!
The whole Experience takes around 90mins. Children need to be at least 12 years old to lead an Alpaca on their own but younger children (8-12) can of course take part too as long as they are with a parent who will lead.
No dogs are allowed on our Alpaca walks and if we decide that the weather is too bad (Alpacas don't like heavy rain) we may well have to postpone your walk and re-book another date. Under these circumstances we offer either a full refund or a voucher for an alternative date.
Once you have purchased your Alpaca Walking Experience please call 01653-917288 or email: Roddy@theprivatehill.co.uk to book your appointment. There are two walk sessions each day of the week (excl. Monday & Wednesday) weather permitting - Morning 1030hrs and Afternoon 1400hrs but reservations are essential. Mid-Week Walking is only available during July, August and September.
PLEASE NOTE: Prices are per person and we require a minimum of at least two bookings per walk as Alpacas don't like to walk alone.
